Alex has been so good keeping up with the blog-but now I suppose I can write something! We really have been having a great time-the food is good! We love pierogis!!! They are like ravioli stuffed with meats, cheese-really whatever you'd like~! Our favorites are the Ruskie which is some kind of cheese-yum yum!!!
We have toured a lot and I'll add a few pictures-we went to Zakopane which would remind you of the place the Ricola commercial was filmed! They had sheep's cheese in the market and it was okay-they carved it though, and it almost looked like wood! We got to go to the top of the mountain, tour around and do a zipline which was so fun! The mountains were so beautiful-nothing at all like you see in Georgia. We then took a 15 hour train ride up to Tczew(Chev(like chew with a v). Jason, Ashlee, Alex and I had a sleeper car so we slept a lot and it really didn't seem like a very long trip. Plus, the countryside was gorgeous!!!!!
We got to Tczew which is a really small(well not that tiny) in Northern Poland-it's about a 30 minute train ride from Gdansk, so we have been there twice. Gdansk is really beautiful too-there is so much history in Poland! Gdansk is actually thought to have been the place where the first shots during WWII were fired. Amber, is huge in Poland so while we were in Gdansk, we went to an amber museum that was inside an old torture prison! We wanted to see the torture part, more than the amber really! It was neat though seeing the Amber which comes from the Baltic Sea. Some of the pieces have bugs in them which are who knows how old! The torture museum was REALLY cool-and a little scary though! They showed different ways they would torture prisoners-ugh...kind of gave you chill bumps to know that it really happened right where we were standing! They were drawn and quartered, braided into a wheel...sick!
We are having a really great time needless to say! Oh yeah, and did I mention they don't use air condition?? We have been sweating a good bit-luckily though, it's cool at night so we just open the windows.
Did I also mention how many cucumbers and tomatoes we have eaten in the last ten days?? haha.
