Will and Emily

Will and Emily-or Will and Emmie Ann, are our niece and nephew. They call us Jessi and Al Al, but at one point, Will liked to call me Penny! We still have no clue why, but it's definitely funny to laugh about now! Will and Emily are Alex's sister's children. Right after we got married, they all moved out to California where Scott just got a job as music minister at a church. You can check out his music here. We're so happy for them to be out there, but we sure miss them! Right after we got back from Poland, they were in Georgia visiting so of course I took some pictures!!! I love that the last five pictures kind of tell a story-one thing I've found with photographing kids, is they're always best if you don't try and pose them, but just let them play and capture them just being kids! Enjoy!!!

Poland

This summer, Alex and I had a great opportunity to go and teach English in Poland for 5 1/2 weeks-we actually taught for only three and toured the rest. It was amazing! It was such a neat experience-even though I took a million pictures while I was there, here are some of my favorites!

Our first full day in Krakow!

Krakow at night-beautiful!!

Zakopane-our favorite city! This is on our train ride leaving to go to camp. It's so beautiful!!

Halloween dance!!! Ninja Turtles-we were quite a hit!

Gdansk-we just loved this city too! It was so colorful! The first shots of WWII were fired here.

Some of the students we met were so musically talented! I got this first one of one of my students playing the piano-Alex got the second one of the guitar! I love it! One of my favorite moments was when it started pouring one night and all the kids were dancing in the rain. I got tons of pictures-actually some of my favorites!(but can't share them because of privacy issues)so sad!

These two photos were from Auschwitz-Berkenau-this was where they brought the prisoners in on the train. Being there was one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had. There were flowers and memorials put up everywhere. Of course everyone reads about the Holocaust and what happened-but it completely changes once you actually walk around where so many were tortured and murdered just because of their race or religion. You seriously leave there changed.

Torun! Copernicus was born here.

I just love this picture :)

This was the view from our dorm in Tczew-I saw three rainbows while we were there and they were all magnificent!

Ashlee and Jason's Anniversary in Poland!

This summer, Alex and I had a great opportunity to go to Poland and teach English with two of our good friends Ashlee and Jason! While we were there, they celebrated their four year anniversary! All of these pictures were taken in Krakow which was the first city we went to-also one of our favorites! The architecture is so interesting and colorful! We had the best time with them and are so thankful for great friends and great opportunities!

I got to help Kelly DeMarino again shoot Jada and Chase's wedding in Opelika, Alabama. It was such a great day and we had a ton of time to take pictures! Jada and Chase were both so laid back and it made the day so fun and relaxing! Here are a few of my favorites I got!

Cassie and Jason's wedding!

The last weekend in May, I got to help Kelly Demarino photograph Cassie and Jason's wedding at Moore's Mill in Auburn. It was perfect weather all day and sure was a party! I really loved photographing this wedding-it was so sweet! During the father-daughter dance, I felt my jaw hurting afterwards because I was smiling so big behind the camera! It was one of the sweetest moments. Here are some of my favorites from the day!!!
